SPOILER!
* * * * * * * * * * Before you can enter this place, you'll need to pick up a few items. They're in a chest in the Peninsula District in the basement in one of the buildings along the edge of the map, along with the guy you're sent to see. I believe it's on the eastern side of the district, close to a small shop. In the chest there's a sword, an arrow and a shield. You only need one of the items to open the door in Blacklake, the other two is needed elsewhere. I want to warn you, though, that the room behind the Blacklake door contains some difficult enemies and you may want to check out the other two places first. I already have a lvl 8 mage+Tomi+familiar+monster summoning 4 so I think I should be able to do it. The quest is the only one which remains to be done before getting the remedy made.

OK, I am either stupid or the quest can't be done with a mage: I went, got the three items and then went back to the house in Blacklake district. There I found that my mage could still not open the door and couldn't use the sword or shield and I did not find a way to use the arrow. I went on to the next chapter, but I did keep a save just to be able to do this quest. Help again anyone?

Simply carrying those items does not open the door.... you have to put the correct item in the chest next to the door

*sigh* It is not that great of a quest. you just get some pendant (+1 wis) at the end of the quest anyways. And the enemies you face are extremely tough in that room, tanks get there butt kicked. My cleric super uberfied with spells still had difficulty defeating them. Just an example. |

You don't have to defeat them; simply lead them on a chase while you grab the item, then "Stone of Recall" to safety. If you have a henchman and tell him to stand his ground at this point it makes it a lot easier

or you can use the belt of cheesiness (combined perhaps with some form of protection from elemental damage)...

I'm gonna impart some Words of Wisdom, Dplax: Don't destroy stuff in CRPG's unless you're absolutely certain it's safe to do so.
So sayeth the Wise Sages of roleplaying games. [ 10-17-2004, 06:35 AM: Message edited by: Stratos ]
