ecky thump isnt made up, its a northern expression from england, its an exclamation of surprise sort of "by ecky thump" bit weird if you ask me [img]tongue.gif[/img]

and yep might have been python, but nooooooo i think just remembering it was kryten in red dwarf, with a random stream from when his circuits went funny, no idea which episode, that sounds like it [img]tongue.gif[/img]

btw i also use ay up which is another northern expression, but im not northern [img]tongue.gif[/img]

I know its a northern expression... I'm English myself... and my Dad has a wide range of accents to pull out every now and agin....... but it's still made up...

by that logic all words are "made up" [img]tongue.gif[/img] ecky thump is as much a northern expression (albeit a dated one) as saying "good morning to you" all language is made up anyhows [img]tongue.gif[/img] amazing we got past grunts and pointing [img]smile.gif[/img]

yep definately madeup [img]smile.gif[/img] and it is python too, its from holy grail cant remember which part, also something in red dwarf [img]smile.gif[/img]

and ecky thump does have a meaning just not a completely clear one, "by ecky thump" is like saying "by god" its swearing by something.

probably [img]tongue.gif[/img] i must admit i have heard the odd person say it as though its normal conversation, i try not to laugh too much when they do [img]smile.gif[/img] , ay up though i use alot instead of hello, i think thats quite a popular yorkshire one
