I've been noticing several threads from last year being bumped up as new. If you have a question on something, please just make a new post rather than bumping up old threads, since most of the forum participants who made those are no longer visiting these boards.

Thanks,
-Sazerac

P.S. I will start locking those threads if I see any more of this occurring.

Good point, Saz! Seen a lot of this around recently, not just in Wiz8. Saw one post, think it was in BG2, where none of the people who responded were still registered with IW!

Sazerac,

Is there a technical problem with doing this? Unlike cute and fluffy games, Wizardry 8 is vast and deep, and sometimes a conversation several months ago is relevant to:

1) Give credit to those who first came up with the strategic innovations, and
2) Unlike many other games, there are lots here who have been posting and playing for the last year plus, off and on. Six years from now there will still be a lot of people playing this game and periodically coming back to it (maybe more than now).

Therefore, I would like to ask you if it is permissible to revive an old thread when there is valid reason for it. This would never be to ask about "How do I get..." but only for strategic considerations, for those of us replaying this game in multitudes of ways and sharing strategic innovations with one another. Wizardry 8 is actually a character-development strategy game.

I ask this respectfully. The case in point relates to Haste, where many on this board discussed this at a greater depth than I had seen previously, but now, on another board, some aspects have come up that appear to go deeper. I would like to resurrect that thread, when I find it, and put it forth to the experts here (Wearboar, Otter, Gimli, and many others).

Hey EE - which threads are you talking about? Can you put up links to the old (which I think I remember) and the new one? Thanks!

[slaps forehead and blushes] Thanks Gimli, I didn't even think of that. I went ahead with the post and just settled for mentioning the earlier insights. Hope that's okay. Some replies have started but I think some players (even those who have posted) may still be testing, which is good, to see if their own observations concur with what those other players "discovered."

In a way it would be nice to have the exact code algorithms for strategic things in the game, but it's kind of fun to do the detective work, too.

How would you define ancient threads? Is 10+ pages considered "ancient"?
