Are you sure it's equipped? Try going a little closer to her without getting burned.
If not, leave the area and come back in. If worst comes to worst, reload the last saved game and try it again...or Revert Game back to Valeia. Just talk to her about everything that comes up. You will eventually get to the "magic word" that opens the path.
