Hmm. Not sure what the diff between democracy and republic is, but either or is good!
Communism, socialism, monarchy, all based on outdated and disreputed ways of seeing the world. The only systems that can, therefore, satiate all are those that are democratic and thus able to respond to the different, chaotic needs of people. But even these don't satiate all.
So in conclusion, government for the people can never truly be that, and must content itself with supporting the majority of people in an auxiliary role to those same people in their social structure.

Well thats not entirley true, you point about some most being out dated isnt true. For instance, communism, real communism, the kind karl Marx envisioned, is never really out dated..Of course it can never really work, IMO, but the idea of all being equal, how can that ideal be out dated? Ever?

Edit: Oh and the diffrence between a Republic and Democracy is a pretty vauge one. But still there none the less..What America has is actaully more simlar to a repbulic then a true democracy..There are a collective of agents that rule on behalf of the people, while a democracy, the citizens vote on everything.

The idea of equality goes against any human nature and instinct. You want the food more than anyone else, whether or not others have had it, for example. Natural competition. I agree with it never being able to work, and the ideal itself is to be strived for. Unfortunately, there is always a reason for one person to be "above" another. That's the fundamental problem with Marxism: only the very purest could possibly resist all the temptations at their disposal.
And it would be very difficult for such an environment to be achieved, because our current society is very individualistic.
Real communism is "utopia," but you must go through socialism first, in Marx's view. This is the same route taken by the Comite de Salut Publique during the French Revolution: the ends justify the means. After all, in executing the upper classes, is that not proving that they are unequal?
If there ever was a true communism though, it would be the pinnacle of humanity, total control over our earthly selves. And that is something to be strived for.
