Well, despite being a registered Republican, I vote whichever candidate I feel is best...or along the lines of DM, whichever one I dislike the least!

Well, I was pretty sure I would offend someone.
As for Democrat line, I was kidding and hoping to nudge a few to respond. Mark |

In Britain the two main parties are The Conservatives (right wing) and the Labour Party (right wing).

with proportional representation (and a 2% minimum vote requred for representation) we have a lot of parties in DK. The ones currently represented in Parliament are (from 'left to right'):
Unitylist, Socilist PP, Social-democrats, Radical Left (center), Christian PP, Conservative PP, Left - The Danish liberal party, Danish PP. PP stands for Peoples Party. There are several other marginal parties out there. Don't be too confused by the names (with 'left' in them) - they are traditional. In the last election I voted Conservative in local election and Left in state election. These two parties currently form a coalition government. The Social-democrats is the main opposition party.

Actually I wasn't offended. Most political discussions revolve around America anyway, I'm used to it.
Seriously though, I didn't really mind. When I saw the poll options I just thought, oh well, can't vote and left the thread. And it is true that since a lot of the people I know online are Americans, discussions DO tend to have a very American focus. No problem for me. If I want to discuss Dutch politics I do it with friends in real life, in chats or on Pandemonium.

Does it help if I admit I screwed this up?
Crow appears to be my favorite meal this week. I guess I should have called it the Inadequate American Political Poll. Mark And Yorick, I do not presume that everyone here is American. I'm not that ignorant, I was just not giving it enough thought. [ 12-16-2002, 01:33 PM: Message edited by: skywalker ] |

Oh, you didn't screw it up to badly. I understand what you were looking for. As for how I vote, I'm have to go along with Cloudy. I typically vote Republican, but not always. In the Tennessee Governors race I crossed over and voted for a Democrat for governor (Bredeson). I just didn't find anything good for the other guy to vote for. But most of my concerns are best voiced by the Republicans.
