It's called 'plagen'. I'm sure the people you hear don't mean what they say, in fact, I know they don't. And I'm not exactly dutch myself, I just happen to be living here, and I hate the dutch arrogance myself. But that's no reason to really dislike the Netherlands or their team. They are just a proud country who are hurting now because they didn't manage to qualify. You don't need to rub it in.

To a point, you could call it teasing but after a while it gets so damn annoying you'd almost smack them over the head. Again, i have nothing personal against a lot of Dutch people but i'm pretty sure that if we didn't qualify and they did, i would have heard that for the next two years and after this week is over, i'll stop gloating but as for right now, i'll gloat, thank you very much. I mean, look at what a week we had in sports. First we win the Fed. cup and now we qualify for the World championships. Can't get much better.

Actually, I agree with JR
*ducks tomatoes, eggs, boots and everything else thrown his way*

The Dutch soccer team is ALWAYS overconfident. Each time I'm amazed at how far they makeit before they get kicked out again. Always gloating, shouting 'we are the best' but never proving it. Watching the matches you can see the player's carelessness. It's another team, can't be as good as ours, right? That's why stressballs sell so well in the Netherlands

Maybe now they will start to show more sense...
One can always dream...

There is no agreeing or disagreeing with what I just said. The dutch team is over arrogant, I know that, but I still don't think that's any excuse to bore them into the ground.
