Does taste nice? I mean isn't it a substitute for meat and is actually ham? I don't think they sell it here in Australia any more..maby cause I'm not looking hard enough. But seeing the ads I saw ages ago, I don't really want to look for it .
Hope I'm not spamming ! [ 01-30-2002: Message edited by: GokuZool ] |

Actually, it tastes quite good. When I was younger, my mum used it in the macaroni and when she was cutting it for dinner later that evening, we always begged for a part of it beforehand... Yummy!
I still buy a can of spam on ocassion, they're still available in stores here, and I still love the taste of it. I guess my taste is just plain weird.

Ewwww yuk.
It's made of all the bits left over after butchering the pig, flavourings and water added, then it's pressed. A way of making money from the bits your dog would turn its nose up at. Used to have spam fritters as a kid. No wonder I'm now vegetarian.

Hey, isn't how they do all commercial sausages? "Those who love sausage and respect the law should never watch either being made."

Actually it's not too bad and very handy to keep on the shelf for emergency situations. We live in the midwestern US, "tornado alley" and usually keep such canned edibles on hand in case electricity (cooking appliances) goes down.
And if you think spam is made of tidbits, Epona, you should see the ingred list on hot dogs!
