Star Trek all day IS a great idea! LoA, feel free to thwack Nebsie again for that anti-Trek attitude! LOL
To set the record straight, Deathkiller, the Star Trek Original series had KIRK as captain from the get-go. The PILOT episode (the one later turned into the multipart show with Pike) had captain PIKE (a male) and a first officer who was female, played by Majel Barrett. Spock, replaced the Number One of the pilot when the series was started. He orginally was in the Pilot as a science officer but not the First Officer. Ahem... a diehard Trekkie here! LOL And as for the series', I love the Original ST, and Next Generation, DS9 was not bad, but Voyager was a very unevenly written show with lots of plotting problems and the writers STANK at giving us a plausible female captain. Janeway did things I'd courtmartial ANY captain for and the writers had her alternate btwn dominatrix and mushy school girl for personality and leadership styles. BLECH! Don't get me going, I could write a treatise! As for Enterprise, I'm liking it so far. It is different from the other shows for obvious reasons, it comes before every one of them in the timeline. It's necessarily 'rough' as they period was one of completely new experiences for humankind. I think that the characters I've seen so far seem believable. I have a few problems with the captain (Bakula) always expecting aliens to love him, but hey.. he'll learn! LOL And his dog is cute! LOLOLOL Hello everyone!

Well the clouds didn't clear, I guess summer is over for us Brits then
I only watched the original Star Trek and Next Generation - the others weren't as good and just didn't keep me watching. I haven't seen Enterprise at all, I really don't like Scott Bakula in the slightest (blame Quantum Leap for that) and I'm sure I'd find him irritating!

Neb, a real Texas thunderstorm is a sight to behold, especially at night, great huge bolts of lightning illuminating everyting like dy, except all blue, ver eerie. And, they are followed by huge deafening peals of thunder, making the weaker souls hide in the basement. If we had basements. But, right now, as Cloudy suspects, we have her sunshine and we're not giving it back untilthe new server is online! J/k
