The corpse flower is again blooming in London. Amorphophallus Titanum is the stinkiest bloom in the world, smelling like a mixture of rotting flesh and excrement. Smelly! This is the first time it has bloomed since 1996. Don't eat lunch before heading to the garden.

Oncological diagnosis could be easier in the future, especially since dogs can apparently be trained to smell out cancer cells. In a blind study (the person who prepared the samples did not tell the dog trainer which samples contained cancer cells) the dog never failed to pick from a group of samples the sample which contained cancer-positive cells. Let's hear it for canis familiaris!
