According to Sammy, he uses the bat during practice to "give the fans a bigger thrill".

All of the things Timber listed are commonly thought of reasons for using a corked bat, but experts disagree as to whether or not a corked bat actually provides any significant advantage. I didn't realize experts disagreed until yesterday, but apparently they do...lol. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Well, if you wanted to practice getting a good swing and aiming at the ball as opposed to practicing hitting the ball far, you might want a lighter bat. Just a guess, but it makes sense to me (but maybe only to me )

Just a thought that struck me... Wouldn't he be able to feel that the bat is so much lighter than the official ones the moment he picked it up?
