Hazardous Times: Chapter X "Where Hidden Dangers Lurk"

ELIZA (To Sanael) "And what would you know of it, elf? Back here toasting cheese and toasting your toes by the fire? We were merely asking questions, and someone poisoned Sorsha, here. We were chasing her assailant, and I caught him trying another shot at my Lord here, so I killed him. And who cares what that rabble thinks of us, anyhow?"

[Attalus]

SIR BLANDAMOUR "Eliza, we should care what anyone thinks of us. We have to uphold the reputation of the Order as well as our own. But, that said, we were attacked and had to fight. That is all. We did not kill any but were offering us violence. My conscience is clear."

[Cerek the Barbaric]

"Bold words from one who is doing a fair amount of 'rabble-rousing' herself." Addison says as he steps forward. "Tell me, young squire, do all lords of the Order teach thier squires the intricacies of hand-to-hand encounters in thier private chambers...or has Sir Blandamour simply made an exception in your case?"

"I - and the others - WERE at the scene of the riot and were taking measures to disperse the crowd without violence. Why do you think they suddenly gave up the chase? Was it because they were so intimidated by your fighting prowess? Not likely. Killing inexperienced commoners isn't too difficult for trained warriors. They stopped because Kishin used his skills to direct their attention elsewhere."

"All the ranger is suggesting is that we should exercise a bit more caution and discretion in our encounters with the townfolk. You can be certain that our actions have marked us this morning and we will not be able to make a move un-watched for the rest of our stay.

And now, rather than attack us openly, we will have to be wary of a dagger in the back from this 'rabble'."

to Eliza:

"No - actually I've been out listening for information. Not that I found out anything useful - except the story of your encounter as seen from the opposition. Apparently you killed more than just the one person that attacked you group - you also managed to slay a few bystanders who were understandebly upset to see an apperent murder in broad daylight."

He pauses to take a sip of wine

"You seem entirely to bloodthirsty, squire . If you really wanted to find anything out you should have taken the man prisoner and asked him why he attack your group, instead of just handing him to Kelemvor. It was the same thing when we first met - where you cut a man hand off rather than look for a key."

The Steeplewood Forest

She is exhausted, but knows she must not stop. Her trail, marked by a line of magic no thicker than a hair, will soon reach it's end, and she can rest then.
Spotting anything from where she is is almost impossible, the tall trees blocking her line of sight. Yet she knows what is down there, in the forest. Not far now.
As much as she is pleased by the prospect of rest, though, she is also worried. The news she brings is not good, and although she doubts it will come to pass, others have been slain for the very same thing.
As she dodges through the trees, her small body avoiding the giants with ease, she suddenly spots trouble. Wolves preventing her from making it the last several yards to her destination. Knowing it's much safer to avoid them, she climbs, to eventually sit on a branch of a tall, straight tree.

A little green bird looks down on the girl cuddling a wolf, and a ranger sleeping closeby.

[Attalus]

SIR BLANDAMOUR (to Addison) "Ay, well, past is past and there's no blinking it, now. But, you cannot tell me that bloke with the cleaver who took a swipe at Galadria was very innocent...." (He stops, mid-sentence. A strikingly beautiful girl, black hair tied back and clad all in black skin-tight leather with a large dirk at her side has come in. Remarkably, her regular features are marred by a long, diagonal scar which runs from her right upper forehead to her left cheekbone. Fortunately sparing her eye and her mouth, the proud nose is however slightly humped. She exchanges glances with him andalmost imperceptively nods toward a nearby table. Glancing meaningfully to Addison, he strides over to the tableand sits down with the girl. There on the tabletop before her are leaves of oak, ash, and thorn.)

[Galadria]

LILYBLACK "Well-met, Sir Blandamour of the Iron Arm, for I presume you to be he. Do you have another token like this to show me?" (He calls Eliza over and gets them from her, laying them on the table. With a look he sends her back to the group)"Ah, a perfect match! I am Lilyblack, and am sent by your superior, Sir Bors. If you doubt me, I am to say, 'Helm defend the right', correct? Well, I wanted a word with you before I disappear, again. The town is astir, and you will need friends. Do not expect to see me again, except at great need. I find you strangely companied, though. What are you doing with that hell-bitch, Eliza? Oh, well, necessity, I suppose. Helm look after you." (She slips through the door and disappears)

chaser as you may have noticed" he glances to the table where B is sat with the woman "I sensed another prescence at our skirmish today but I could not lockk onto it, I am going to go up to my room
and meditate on it and see if I can find it, I feel it may help in your quest and may be a nice challenge for me " he winks at you

LADY GALADRIA "I shall pass the word along, but I do not think that Sir Blandamour is talking to that woman about aught but business, Besides, she looks familiar, somehow."
