My mate was playing the game and got up to the Jungle of Chult. Instead of listening to the the Yuan-ti Priest Sashkta have his dialog with the initiates that you take the robes from, he wasted them all with a DB Fireball and learnt nothing. There was no journal update.

Problem is that now he does not know the passwords for the temple. Does anyone know the global variable that can allow him to know the passwords? He can use the robes but that is useless for someone who does not know the passwords.

Of course the other option would be to waste all the yuan-ti, but if you are milking the xp, then that is no option at all...

There is no global variable that would allow him to know the password, as there is no pasword.

You simply listen to them reciting some things, and then when you go inside, guards ask you to recite some, and you must choose the good choices.

Luvian is correct. The older priest is teaching the initiates lessons. The content of these lessons contains the answers to the "password" questions that you will be asked if you try to covertly infiltrate the Yuan-ti temple.

As to whether taking out the temple covertly is worth more than by direct force, I cannot say. I've done it both ways, although I usually prefer the direct approach (often have a pure-class paladin in my group that cannot wear the initiate robe).

The one particularly fun thing about the sneaky method was battling the entire congregation in the temple's chapel. Good fun! [img]smile.gif[/img]

If your friend just wants to get this part over quickly, he can make everyone invis before entering. In fact, only one person really needs to be invis, provided the rest of the party stay right by the stairs.

Send the invis person right down the hall until he/she comes to the lever room. Pull lever, wait for undead to stagger out of room, then go in and get the stele (use alt to see it). Return to party and everyone exits.

The alternative is to rampage through the place and kill all the Yuan-Ti.

Luvian. They ask questions right? The answers won't come up as valid dialogs, if you have slaughtered them without hearing them. That was the problem.

We got over it by having the high CHA, diplomacy, bluff character talk their way out of having to answer the questions so everything worked out anyway. Thanks for your real suggestions.
