Its a cursed belt of absolute immunity to death. Anyone wearing one *cannot die* (cept by INT drain, which is the effect the designers forgot and never coutered). On Imoen it ensures she never actualy dies in Irenicus dungeon, since that would screw the plot majorly. With it on she can never go below 1 hp, so she can always run away.
Other characters (non controllable) in the game wear it as well, to ensure the player can never kill them and scrwe the plot. And finaly some less scrupulous players cheat it onto themselves so they can never die. Bit of a boring game if you do that, but some people like it that way. Makes sure she doesnt die
It gives her -1 hp, and immunity to no-return spells, such as desintegrate, Imprisonment etc. I'm not sure if it renders her immune to intelligence-drain too, I dont think so. Also it gives her the ability to cast magic missiles atleast once IIRC ( for plot-reasons ). It's just a tool the developers gave her in Irenicus Dungeon, so the plot goes as planned. EDIT: Ack ! I've been outwrited ... [ 01-15-2003, 10:51 AM: Message edited by: daan ]

But does Saemon wear it? I thought I saw that before - but, when fighting Desharik I chunked him good (reloaded ... Prefered to take the fishy route if you know what I mean - but DAMN that felt GOOD).

Of course, removing it from Imoen makes absolutely no difference at all. She still shows up tossing a couple of MMs at Jonny, whether or not she's got them memorised or even if she's wearing armour (damn, that girls good).
I removed the belt and backstabbed her. Chunked her good, but she STILL turns up outside, getting there before me (and I let Jasper help me!) and seemingly unharmed. What gives?? |

Life, or ForceSpell .
It is interesting to know that Imoen who emerges the dungeon with you (the one Baros killed) isn't the same Imoen that casts that Magic Missile. The script removes her and replaces with another one.
