I logged onto MSN Messenger earlier tonight, then logged onto a different account, and now it comes up with this error:
Sorry, we were unable to sign you in to the MSN Messenger at this time. Please try again later. MSN Messenger has made several failed attmpts to sign you in. Your firewall may be blocking Messenger from connecting to the service. Please review your firewall settings. See the retailer's instructions for more information. I use the Windows XP Firewall, and I've tried turning it off, allowing msmsg.exe as an exception (which it already was) and I'm baffled. Why it worked all of a sudden, now decides not to, is beyond me. I've also tried uninstalling/reinstalling, to no help (except it made the troubleshoot messager clearer)

This site:
http://www.imzers.com/msn/solve/error-code-80072ee7 gives a few ideas on it. Have you tried completely disabling the firewall and trying to sign in then? Edit: nvm that last question, rechecked your first post. [ 03-07-2006, 04:49 PM: Message edited by: dplax ]

I have intermittent problems with MSN as well, and sometimes with yahoo too. Sometimes it's like my ISP hiccups or something. I've been signed in and out of yahoo messenger during a message session, which is quite annoying. However, all attempts to rectify the problem on my end have been unsuccessful. I think the problem with MSN is that sometimes the network gets "clogged". Sometimes it will fuss for an hour before I can get on, which is annoying, and sometimes, I just have to retry after running the trouble shooter, and then, sometimes it will log in while I'm running the trouble shooter..Anyway, I think some of the problems are with the main server for the messenger.

That would explain in RTB, why one second it works, then it doesn't, etc. etc.
