Hey!

I've been working on the Character Maker Modules again now that I finally got NWN running. I know some folks here mentioned they liked and used the module and I was wondering if any Ironworkers had any complaints, comments, and/or suggestions to expand and improve the module.

Also, An update is on they way as well!

I am 75% finished rewriting the scripts and blueprints for the stores. Some users complained(one of the loudest being me ) the main area of the module was slow to load- in both the game and the toolset. This was due to the sheer amount (dozens) of invisible store placeables placed in the main area. These invisible stores are now all gone from the area.

Instead each invisible store placeable is spawned in the same conversation that opens the store for shopping. When the store is closed the invisible store placeable is destroyed until it is called again. The stores themselves are stored as blueprints. This also makes it way more easier to update and export stores and items. The game loads faster and will run better.

Once all the details are ironed-out and some new stuff is added official updates will go up at the NW Vault in a week or two at most.

I am so excited about playing and building NWN again! It was like starting from scratch. All my files/modules/characters/erfs/haks/ and back-ups- literally gone. But I didnt lose my notes or my mind and I'm playing now so its all good!

Thanks for comments and Ideas!

Scott

Cool I'm a big fan of the novice to epic character maker. So if you need anyone to beta test then let me know!

Cheers!

Hey Robert the Bard! Good to see ya! After I finally finish HOTU, after a year-long interuption, you'll see me playing online lots more. Perhaps our paths in the game can cross again like they have before.

Excellent, I'm heading there now...
Edit: Well, I went then and got it, but didn't get to play with it until a bit ago. The results, see my new thread on epic char builds...

Hey ya'll,

I've been a busy bee and had extra free time this week thanks to four days of straight torrential rain and wind with 45 f temps during what was planned to be my mini-spring gardening vacation!

New update of the NON-CEP version of the N-E Character Maker at the vault.

http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view...Detail&id=3704

NEW:

New:
Shop stock merchants from the NWN OC and XP.

Recieve Wizard scrolls in bulk by level.

6 new arena areas added for variety. All arena areas have the same functionality.

Fixed multiple control device bug. Added an item for users to store extra inventory. Added and modified sound through-out module. Fixed and fine-tuned conversations. Modified most merchants back to having close to default buying and selling values. Updated and modified some of the arena scripts and object blueprints. Standardized a majority of scripts and blueprints with the dw_ prefix.

Added 20 or so new custom items of all sorts.

This is probably last update for this file til end of next month at the earliest. CEP edition will recieve this update first week of June.

I think all the bugs are worked out- let me know otherwise please.

Have a good one,

I haven't found any bugs in the CEP edition, but I didn't shop for any CEP stuff either...
