many questions -- spoilers

First of all, I am currently at the point in Chapter 4 where all I can do is fight Joh Irenicus with the help of the inmates. I've been killed about 3 times on novice setting so I could use some pointers. Like what the heck do I do about the clones attacking me before I can do much more than put up a couple of defensive spells?
(I have a crappy party, BTW. I may have to start over. I've got Valydar, Imoen, Nalia, Aerie, and, of course, Minsc. Not entirely my fault. Just before I was due to catch the boat Anomen stomped off in a snit when I told him not to go avenge his sister and father, the rat. And of course Yoshimo, was, well, Yoshimo. Result, I have 4 magic users--with my sorceress--and only one mediocre cleric.)

I have the bow of Getheren (sp.) parts, do I have to wait until I get back to Athkatla and Cromwell before I can use them? Do I get back to Athkatla?

Do I get Anomen back or doesn't he love me any more?

Should I have done the Planar Sphere quest before this or not?

Should I have done most of the side quests in Athkatla before this, for that matter?

Should I just give up and start over?

Will The Two Towers be as good as Fellowship of the Ring? (Never mind.)

Hmm.... ur party isn't so bad, I suggest that all u do is to have ur spell casters at the back while uur fighters swarm Irenicus, do not worry about the clones, they wont do much damange, I think that ur allies will kill them with a death spell or something... anyway, try and kill Irenicus as soon as possible, do not let him have the time to cast the "something writing" a spell like cloudskill, that can finish u up real quick.

I would hope for The Two Towers to be better, but even if it's close to being as good as the Lord of the Rings I'll be happy. As far as the Planar Sphere and side quests, the more you do the more powerful you are and the more magic items you amass.

about the equalizer... you have to look for the hilt and the blade... long walk to freedom.

the geysen bow has two parts. the string and the bow. you can find the bow in bodhi's maze

You can´t asembel the geshen bow until your back home. About the side quests: I recomend doing EVRYONE befor going on Big gay Al´s Big gay boatride to the asylum. If you can´t beat the dragons, just skipp em and kill em later. That way you´ll be powerfull enough to survive the rest.=)

i had problems here too, so here are some tips...

first, use a whole lot of magic attacks on Irenicus, until he leaves (he won't die, he'll flee.) second, don't worry about the clones, they suck most of the time, if one of the clones is doing too much damage kill it for they are pretty weak. third, after you make jon flee, kill the assassins or whatever they are called, they come at about the same time as yoshimo. if you have disabled yoshimos invisibility kill him as well. once yoshi and assassins are gone, kill the clones. then save. this may take time, but after 4 tries i beat it.

1. Don't worry, you'll be able to go back and do the side quests of athkatla.
2. Don't give up you wimp! just kidding. but don't quit.
3. The Two Towers is gonna be better than the first one, as i have seen much stuff on it's making and the story is better too.

Yep, not until you get back. The Hilt of the Equalizer is the only part you could have found by this part of the game, so don't worry, you haven't missed them.

I think once a party member walks off on their own, they--and their equipment--are gone forever.

Depends on at what part of the game you wanted to do Spellhold. If you want to wait for all the Planar Sphere quests to run out, you might have to spend some time cooling your heels in Athkatla.

I have grave doubts--I liked some of the new things that were added in Fellowship, and also disliked some others. Way too much Hollywood in there. As for Towers, in one of the trailers I saw some shots of Arwen lying down in what looked like a small boat in a pond. WHERE in the book is that supposed to happen? Sorry to disappoint anyone, but the War of the Ring was not won by Elvish princesses floating about in boats.

The fight with Irenicus:
* He's a pushover. Hit him fast enough, and you can kick his ass before he even has time to cast anything. Gee, THAT was hard.
* The clones? Pfft. Consider your opponents: None of them has any armor, and the only one with any real hitpoints is Minsc. Oh, dear.

2 more bits of advice:
* Go to the link in my sig and read the SoA part of Chapter 13.
* Don't lose your Rod(s) of Resurrection. Don't have one? Well then, if Aerie dies, you're screwed. Why? well, SPOILER
