I have another question: how many gem bags and scrol cases would i need for a solo sorc, and why? would a sling be good, i use spells most of the time.

Yeah, a sling's probably your best bet for a weapon - either that or darts. I'd say you need roughly 4 scroll cases and 2 gem bags, but that's just my opinion.

You might want to read some of Dundee Slaytern's stories about his Sole Sorceror - he's one of the members here who completed the game with -among others- a solo sorceror. I believe he has a link in his sig to a site where he gives some tips
If you do a Google search, I'm sure you'll find more tips of others who solo'd the game with a Sorceror.

Good luck and enjoy!

i solo sorcerored and im working on another solo sorc game again. from an experienced sorceror you will need at least 3 scroll cases to sort out spells (offensive, Defensive, Summoning) and a couple gem bags. but if you take my advice only put in spells worth casting not all the junk spells like friends, know alignment, oracle leave shit like that out

That's what I tought, but I am not convinced about slings...I still think the best ranged attack is melf's meteors or others like that, or some summons for certain tipes of enemies...on the other hand however, a sling isn't that expensive for a solo character! I'll get one.

but if you have bonus merchant patch installed it's easilly obvious that you should get Everard's sling +5 from Joluv in the copper coronet. but if you don't have it try posting where you can get a BMP

I have the patch, and I'll get that sling, it's just that I usually don't have time using a sling, because I have my hands full with spells! But if I have Everard's sling +5 and add some bullets, will i do the damege with both?

Have a look at all the slings at http://www.itemsmart.host.sk/Magic_Items/Slings/ , Erinnes Sling +4 in the watchers keep is pretty good. Or take a look at http://www.itemsmart.host.sk/Magic_Items/Darts/ . The crimson dart +3 is a good dart that doesnt need ammo.

Do not use bullets with the Sling of Everard. The main reason why you will want this sling is because of the +5 enchantment of its phantom bullets. Anyway... it will only be on rare occasions that you will end up using this sling. The main reason that comes to mind are Admantium and Iron Golems, get these golems stuck somewhere( like a narrow doorway) and pelt them safely from afar.

My solo Sorcerer eventually had 2 Scroll Cases, 2 Gem Bags, 1 Glasses of Identification and 2 Potion Bags permenently in his inventory. Unless you want to count the familiar as well.

One Scroll Case is for the Green Scrolls, like Protection from Magic, Protection from Undead, Protection from Fire/Acid/Cold/Electicity/etc... ...

The other Scroll Case is for level 9 spells like Wish, Imprisonment, etc... ...

One Gem Bag is for keeping alternative rings and amulets, like the Ring of Gaxx( which I have never used...), Ring of Free Action, Ring of Air Control, etc... My default two rings are the Ring of Alacrity, and the Ring of Wizardry. This will also contain gems and jewellary that will be needed to craft some of the ToB items using Cespenar.

I know you need to kill an apprentice to get the Ring of Wizardry, but I have seen them through their graduation ceremonies so many times with a party, that I think a minor incident while soloing can be permitted.

The other Gem Bag is of course, for other gems and jewellary to be sold.

One Potion Bag is for healing potions( which I had to end up selling because I was not using them... when was the last time I used a healing potion? Hmmmm...). The other potion bag is for other beneficial potions like Invisibilty Potions, Potions of Clarity, etc... ...

Any other questions?

I finished SoA but I never finished ToB, in fact I just did a couple of quests at the very beginning...should I solo ToB or finish it in a party first? What is a good character class (main) for a fighter (no ranged weapons!) in a party?
