alright, novices, experts, and mediocre adventuring bands alike have certain monsters that just keep them down. Monsters that have huge advantages that are definately NOT fair! But sometimes your party just isn't ready. as I was a younger inexperienced party I learned four strong words, "SPIDERS ARE THE DEVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" but as I became more aware of my surroundings I exchanged the word spiders with the word, "Lich". from then on I just became accustomed to swearing and cursing at every monster that crossed my path before chopping them into iddy biddy widdle pieces.... oooh.... the delight... so uh what monsters do you hate?

Trolls in level 4 Dragon's Eye. Not because they are tough but because at that point you still dont have enough fire/acid weapons and those buggers keep respawning.

Spectral Guards. One or two aren't bad, but when you get a whole gang of them after you, it's a mess.

Any monster, in sufficient numbers, is a pain; but monster-for-monster (excluding Big I and Big B), I'd have to say, without a doubt: wailing virgins.

I'd say spectral guards (they seem really hard to kill), wailing virgins, and stone nuisances. Total pain in the a**!

Anything that can respawn. Orcs, I hate orcs. fun to kill, but they were overused it the game.

Anything with a missle weapon..

Just as my mage learns protection from normal missile's everything start's throwing +1 missiles..

There's nothing worse, my party's only 5 strong (one got chunked in chapt 1) one fighter and two cleric's, a mage and a theif, so when casting spell's it's hard enough to keep my caster's safe from melee attack's so they get their spell's off, but missile weapons just tear me up...
