IS RIBALD THE OFFICIAL BONUS MERCHANT DISTRIBUTED ON THE BONUS CD?
No, I made him up. In particular, I made him up before it was common knowledge that the collector's edition contained a bonus merchant. I made him up because I didn't think there would be an official bonus merchant. Hence the naming confusion.

The one that appears to be official is the "Whirlwind" in Orricks Tower in Kuldahar.
Yes. The "Collector's Edition Bonus Items" component of the Ease-of-Use mod is the "official" one. I didn't write any of it (well, I wrote the WeiDU packaging, but you get the idea).

HERES MY PROBLEM! I consider adding non-official things CHEATING.
Skip Ribald.

CAN SOMEONE assure me that the non-Ribald Merchant is the same as in the collectors addition so I can ad it and buy some new goodies?
The non-Ribald one is the same as the Collector's Edition, so you can revel in official-ness.

By the way -- are there any IWD2 mods floating around? Are there things that people here would like to see as IWD2 mods?

Well the only Whirlwind I have ever seen in Orricks Tower, didn`t require any MOD. It is already included as part of the game.

As per the instructions I left for Jack of Speed a couple posts up...

The only add`in merchant besides Ribald, that I know of, you have to get in the Wandering Village from the Drow Elf Nym. It is the Avarine Decanter.
And THAT is the one that comes with the "Official" Mod. That has the bonus items from the Collectors CD.

You generally have to click on the "magic words" in the dialogue box several times before the elemental appears in the corner. However, I did notice that with the bonus merchant installed (from the Ease of Use mod), the elemental is noticed right from the start, you don't have to mess with the book.

Jack, tough luck. You're gonna miss out on some nice items there, especially since you're in HOF mode and they could come in handy. Personally, I have no scruples whatever when it comes to Neat Toys, and put Ribald in my game. I haven't been sorry.

Weimar, thanks for the Ease Of Use mod. But the experience thing (get some xp regardless of level) is messing with the fixed awards for quests. Experience for that is less than normal.

Thanks Weimer, Luvian, Nightowl2, Lord Corwin; for clearing that up. I am going to install the Elemental Merchant patch from the ease of use mod then. I didnt see a table in the Tower in Kuldahar but I will look again before I patch and then again AFTER I patch. Maybe some of you have the pre order addition and dont know it?

THANKS A LOT EVERYONE!

Nope, bought mine off the shelf a couple days after it came out. Standard edition, not pre-ordered.

The book is on the table to the left. Run your cursor over there and you should find it.

Something I might ad to that is the Avarine Decanter quest gives some REALLY nice bracers. Im mean OFFENSIVELY nice! +5 non-magical bonus to AC stacks with ANYTHING! Maybe its time to resurect the Deepgnome Monk for HoF. With all these new Items I might be able to get the AC high enough to MATTER.

Excellent, that clears things up.

Incidentally, if you select the Bonus CD Items using the "Ease of Use" mod, this will replace some of the cheaper nice items in the Gallaway store with very expensive ones. What I'm going to do is not install this until my guys have much more money.

Hmmm...does it? I hadn't noticed anything new in Deirdre's stock after installing the mod. Must go have a look to see what I'm missing.
