I used to love the Sandman and Books of Magic comic series he wrote, but for some reason never gave him a chance as an author. Then a buddy of mine gave me American Gods, so I read it and liked it quite a bit. Went on to read Neverwhere, which I loved, and am currently reading Stardust, which is quite good. It's fantasy, but not DnD type fantasy. I'd like to hear if anyone has read his stuff, and what they thought. If you haven't, might be worth looking into.

I finished Neverwhere a few months ago. Excellent book, very original. Unfortunately, our local library doesn't have any of his other novels. Well, not in English anyway.

I've only read Good Omens, but that alone has made me want to read some more. If only I could find something.

He left some encouraging comments on the cover of China Miéville fiction titled Perdido Street Station. You should check that out once you've finished creeping around the eustachian tubuloes of Gaiman's middle ear.
