Hi, all. I got the genie lamp and wanna be sure about what it does before I use it. The "Tome of Many Flaws" isn't clear on this. The lamp's detail box says it has 1 charge, so I'm guessing that the player character which has it can summon the genie once, and have 3 wishes granted one after the other. Is this correct? And what are these wishes limited to? And you still get full credit when you turn the lamp in to Damosh at the Armory, even though you used the genie, right? And, if I can tack on one more nagging question here, what's the deal with that Rat Skull? I can't find anything about it in the guide, except that it's listed as a quest item at the back of the book. My Lizzord Warlock has been lugging this thing around ever since we went through the Crypt. Can I sell it to someone for a buck or should I hang onto it?

The wishes are limited to:
  • Weapon - Sword of Argus~ 6-20 damage, Special Death Strike, Enchant+2, Hit+2, tough 75%
  • Ability - +1 to All 8 stats
  • Power - Arms of Argus~ increased damage, with hand weapons (?%)
  • Armor - Chain of Argus~ AC 4.80, tough 75% , Regen+1
  • Health - 25 HP
  • Ward - Amulet of Argus~ AC +2, 20% Pro (All + Silence & Light), Merlins Sheild (4 charges)
  • Nothing
There's a post, by 'Dr.Pick' that explains how to properly abuse 'Alababa' and the Lamp Click & Scroll

Packrat mentioned the wishes and the options. To answer your other questions...

1. The rat skull was left over from a quest that didn't make it into the final game. It does nothing but consume inventory space. Ask me about a wooden flute sometime...

2. You don't need the lamp as proof of killing doshi-gin (or whoever had it). Just killing the intended target is enough.

3. Each character can get one wish, and three wishes can be granted (unless you use the tricks/cheats in the best tips thread). The first user has to use their wish on someone else; everyone else can wish on themself. So the first user stands a real good chance of getting stuck without a real wish.

Thanks for answering my other questions, Bungleau. It'll be nice to get rid of that darn Rat Skull. Yeah, the guide says that Doshi Gin stole the magic lamp and The Clan of Three Swords wants it back, but they really didn't. They just wanted vengeance for his killing of several clan members. On a happy side note, I just got hip to how to buy new spells, and got some new ones for my two warlocks. I'm in town now, preparing to head for Dragonspire.

Bungleau,
If the 1st charactor that uses the lamp must use it on someone else how is Missy Hissy going to use it.
Loumistro my solo wizard couldn't use it so mine is sitting near the gates of Ishad na. The only way I can think of is to create a charactor just to use it, but I think that defeats the purpose of doing a solo game.
Any ideas anyone?

Yep, I'm not sure how Missy is going to handle that lamp situation. Perhaps when she's in Brimloch Roon, Lady Tigra, a retired zenmaster, may help her. OR perhaps she may just leave things well alone.

And BTW, Sig Segorn, when you learn spells from books, you get less mana than if you learn them when you increase levels. Check the Best Tips thread for details.

Sig...Sorry I didn't answer the rest of your questions...
...I didn't have any of the details for the wishes...written down...So I had to play it through and catalog them..(As luck would have it..I had just loaded a save...to find some answers for Kev and Samara)....by the time I finished...I forgot your other questions.

Thanks to Bungleau...for picking up on that.....
