Hmmm, I was wondering if I should get IWD2. I have NWN and I love the game, but I dont know if IWD2 will compare to it. Would do you think? (and be honest!)

If you want to start a game that has a fresh concept and new interface, I suggest you do. But if you lack patience I suggest not. IWD2 is for people that has alot of patience and are really in the game. Every game has it's flaws. The final decision is yours still. If I were you I'll stick with NWN.

If you liked the BG stuff, definatly get it! It is different than the Aroura Engine used in NWN. Much Better IMO. The best that I like abuot NWN is the expandability.

You really can't compare the two games, with the exception that they are both CRPG's....
I also enjoy NWN's, but was getting a bit burned out on playing it all the time. I actually play several CRPG's at once, depending on my mood... I like IWD2, for what it offers, and the graphical effects. It is worth the money to play and enjoy...

I stopped playing NWN because I got tired of leading only one character, and being nervous all the time wondering if my crazy cleric (Linu) is going to run again attacking eveyone on the map like she's a barbarian! Icewind Dale is so much better.

Buy it. It's much better than NWN.

Like the riginal poster, i am considering purchasing IWDII. I have been playing Wiz 8 for a while, but the replay value is starting to dim. My current system won't play Morrowwind well, so I have ruled out the game. I've heard that the solo play on Neverwinter Nights is rather bland, also, it is a single character storyline. I prefer the 6 member party found in Wiz 8 or IWDII. I played Baldur's Gate and enjoyed it, though the engine seemed very slow to me. Is game play better in IWDII or is it similar to BG? I never played BGII, SoA, ToB, etc. so i don't know how much has changed in the series. Any response appreciated.

Buy it. Way better than NWN. If you liked IWD, you'll like IWDII. Play with your characters. A warning, though. Running all those errands in the Prolog gets tedious, especially the second time around, and even in HOF. The rest, so far, is a gas.

BG slow? u can speed things up by turning up the AI update.... Haven't tried on IWD2, Don't remember coming across the config console..... but trust me, in the big battles, u'd appreciate the "slow"! HAHAHAHAH

No doubt that iwdII is much better than iwd.
There are more interesting quests, challenging enemies, nice music. If you don't like iwd like me, you may still try iwd2. I prefer BGII rather than iwd because it doesn't have as much battles as iwd does, but almost each battle is impressive. A lot of interesting battles can also be found in iwd2. The only pity is that this game seems a bit unbalanced... Some designs are not very proper. Iwd2 is nice, but I confess I like nwn better because of iwd2's multiplay part still not so satisfactory.
