I have only just chanced upon this drivel, and will treat it with the disdain it so obviously requires

There are only three certainties :-

1) Mel will undoubtedly beat me in any swimsuit contest ( doctored "Mousetruncheon" shots not withstanding)

2) Win or lose in the playoffs, the Scots fans will get royally pissed and use it as an excuse to have a right good party.

3) Even if we fail (as seems likely) to qualify for Portugal, we can still show our support for any team playing Englandshire and thus enjoy a large measure of schadenfreude as some unfancied team who they taught the game to/are not fit to lace the boot's of a team that won the '66 World Cup/won only due to the duplicity of a dodgy foreign referee (delete as applicable) turf them out of the competition

Not from me, I revel in the utter mediocrity of Scotland. We have got it sussed. We're crap and we know we are. Therefore, we have failed to have any real expectation of winning anything for years. This leaves us free to indulge our real passions which are a) having parties (home games) and b) having parties in foreign locations (away games).

Anything else is just a bonus
