Buna ziua, tower!

Nice to meet a Romanian here at IW, I have spent time working as an archaeologist in your country, which was a wonderful experience. Didn't get as far east as Buzau, I was based around Alba Iulia.

Unfortunately my Romanian is a bit rusty, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to type characters with the correct accents on them!

Anyway, welcome to Ironworks.

LOL Sigmar, at least your post exists *I think ... uhm... *

Concerning myself, I'm not sure about my nationality. I've got an italian passport, but I'm born in Germany. If I'd begin to analyse my pedigree for a few generations, I'd end up with something like Z's listing...

Wow; Hello Epone (lukily it is day here). I am suprised t see someone who has traveled here and retained some words; well you were forced to. What did you study as an archeologist in Romania???????????????? Most things were destroyed by Ceausescu-moron (eg: his wife was d.a. - acknoledged scientist and couldn't pronounce chemical elements corectly). Any way i like English more than rommanian(thinks it's a little more "smooth").
Anyway Romania 0.03%, more than other countries (0.00%); why??? Are there more Romanian members.
O zi buna tuturor!!!

tower, I visited twice, once in 1999 and again in 2000 (and it was very hot working outside that year!), working on a Roman site.

I'm not bad at picking up the odd phrase or two when I travel, and tend to remember for a while! I wouldn't be much good at having a conversation, but could manage basic stuff like ordering a meal or asking directions, that sort of thing.

Didn't get to do much travelling while I was there, because a lot of time was spent working, but managed to get to see Sighisoara, Sibiu, and visited the Dacian and Roman sites of Sarmizegetusa (I hope I spelled that right!) On my first visit I also passed through Cluj and Buchuresti, just to use the airports really though so no time to see the cities at all.

I have some very good memories, especially of the people I was working with, and of the beautiful Transylvanian countryside. Oh and the tuica (is that spelling correct?) - oh boy that stuff burns! Tried some nice beers (Ursus I think?) and vodkas too.

What no one here from the Vatican City? Which is actually considered its own country.
