Not quite what I meant, no. Liberal, as in pro freedom'n stuff, not just anything that opposes conservative. Righties don't want the state spending (too much of) their money (which one can cover up as wanting freedom, rather than greed), tend to be pro free market'n such.

Dangit! I can't get the answer sheet to come up far enough for me to answer the last few questions. I can get down to Question 28 and then I can't record any more of my answers.

Anybody else have this problem? How can I get around it?

Yes - I had that problem Cerek - I managed by careful mouse manipulation to get to question 30, then just hit the submit button.

As to Liberal and Labour - no idea TL. The liberals here are the cut taxes for the rich, opress the labour unions, cut back social programs, budget for a surplus, tight fiscal control party here. The labour party exhibits very little in the way of alternative on social conscience issues, pretends every 4 years to have an environmental conscience so that they can lap up the green vote from the enviro vandal Libs, is for higher taxes on the rich, more welfare for the poor, special treatment for labour unions, and blow the budget with huge defecits on spending programs.

Well, yup, seems like Labour=US Liberal and Liberal=US Conservative. Except here both parties want to blow the budget on huge spending programs. One party wants to use it to buy guns, the other wants to use it to buy all sorts of useless feel good crap.

God, guns and guts are what made America free. You're as red as they come.

Outside the US, Labour ( and Socialdemocrats) are left to center-left, Liberals are center to center-right and Conservatives are on the right.

A simplification perhaps, and exceptions do exist, but it follows these basic lines somewhat accurately.

Edit: And red generally means left and blue right on the political spectrum.

Timber, I don't know about other countries, but in France, 'Liberals' are right-wing people who advocate 'liberty' - meaning liberty for business. 'Free' means 'private' in this context. As a French expression says, they advocate "the freedom of the fox in a free henhouse" ...

EDIT : Oh, and as for colors : Red, here, is the symbolic color of communism. In fact, being called 'a red' used to be a popular right-wing insult - meaning you were a dangerous communist activist. So our political rainbow goes from red to blue from left to right. Socialists color is pink.
