Which do you think did more for the black citizen? Joe Louis or Muhammed Ali? I personally think Joe Louis. His attitude, charisma, skill and patriotism were an inspiration to us all, whereas Ali helped tear apart the nation. In addition, Joe Louis helped to wipe away the foul taste caused by a prior black champion (Jack Johnson). Which do you think, IWers?

They were both good fighter's but which one had more of a positive impact? I'd have to say Louis as well. Hell, everyone loved him (except Hiter I guess).

How would a boxer do anything good for a whole community of people ? They are in that business for money and fame in the first place.

In terms of their social message. Joe Louis for example, joined the military and did numerous social causes, such as charity, war relief funds, and did USO shows. In addition, Muhammed Ali supported Malcolm X, black rights, and refused to fight in the vietnam war because "No vietcong ever called me ■■■■■■".
