Isn't it possible to get pop-up ads which only appear once per sign-in for all members? That would just require one click to get rid of it, and it would be a very minor nuisance.

Or perhaps banners on the forum itself? I have the impression that most people on IW spend the majority of their time on the forums, rather than the actual site.

Shhhhhhhh. You're new, so I should forewarn you that the Z-man and his master, Choc Almighty, have a philosophical problem with pop-up ads. So, bite thy tongue.

Actually I remember Timber, I just don't think that we encountered each other much on IW. And most of my posts came from one or two weeks of being infinitely, infinitely bored. I remember one week where I averaged around 200 posts per day because I really had nothing else to do.

Actually, and though it may seem heresy to some here, I agree with the returned/reformed Nebling. I've donated in the past, but unfortunately am tapped out at the moment (an unexpected car repair bill for £300).

I'm sure all of us appreciate the time and effort Ziroc has put into this place and it pains me to see him make sacrifices to keep this place going. I visit plenty of sites that have the odd pop-up/banner at the top, and it doesn't bother me a bit. If it meant that Ziroc could get on with his life without worrying about the cost of keeping IW running from month to month, I say go for it!
