An interesting read. Basically, Bush was attending a big dinner in Chili, when his secret service man got held back and not allowed to go through the doors...which made the man fight because these secret service men will take a bullet and lose their own lives before being the ones responsible for allowing the president to get injured. Anyway, Bush reached into the fight and grabbed his man and pulled him through the door, then smirked at the crowd about it.

I think its kinda funny. The report said that the whole issue was a misunderstanding of security requests for the US president, and the Chilean govt.

President Ricardo Lagos believed the measure was humiliating for guests, the Chilean official said.
I don't see how walking through a metal detector is humiliating. If all dignitories had to do it (including Bush and Putin) then everyone would have been on level ground and no one would have lost any face.

"Bush then turned around, cocked his head proudly at his maneuver and began to greet his hosts."

This phrase bothers me. People wouldn't hate him so much if he didn't strut around like a, a rooster, and behave in such an arrogant manner.

Humourous thread. Not least because of the amusing typo - I get the mental picture of an irate face staring out of a bowl of chili.
