My "Teleport" spell suddenly stopped working, I get "spell failed" when I cast it. I've been using the trio Set Portal, Call Home & Teleport for awhile but now whenever I try to teleport after visiting town it fails. I have to swim back to Anephas's shrine and go through it to get to the pyramid side, it's a real pisser.

Where are you exactly and where is your portal set (please be as descriptive as possible)?

The first portal that failed was set on the bank of the Lost Sea just south of the Hydra area. The next one I set just south of the water entrance to Anephas's Shrine area. Both times I got the "Portal Created" message then cast "Call of Home" and went to town (Brimloch Roon.) Upon leaving town the Teleport spell failed.

More info: Now it is apparently going to work. I played around with the spells and now it works fine even though I didn't do anything different. Nothing more agrevating than an intermittent problem. Thanks for your help anyway but I guess I'll have to live with this.

I had only brief problems with "Teleport" and "Call of Home", but major trouble with "Vanish". I've read other posts describing similar difficulties, and it sounds pretty random. I wondered if it might be a design feature to make the game more "interesting".
A note for those of us who use "Create Portal" and "Teleport" (probably everyone). It's always a good idea to test a newly created portal by running a short distance away and casting "Teleport" to see if it works.
