When/how often can you buy tomes in the wizard and priest guilds? Is it every level or two levels or something? I'm wondering because obviously you can't get every spell in a class unless you work your way up to level 15 or something, and to do that in valeia and the early bits of ishad n'ha means you don't have the normal lot of baddies to kill when you change classes.....
At one point i levelled and saw about 5-6 books in the wizard guild so i bought them all and invoked them. now i've started messing with changing roles i hardly see any books at all and i don't really want to run back & forth to rumpy 500 times just to learn the spells, and to leave the monsters in the next zone. ( thanks for any advice |

The books are found at the Guilds are set troughout the game. In other word, if you buy a flamestrike book, it won't be at that guild ever after!
My advice, stay away from books, they greatly limit your mana score!

The game plays fine especially if you think about it broadly. Almost all RPG's involve choosing trade offs and rarely do you get everything.. You can buy books if you want to get all the spells quicker, but you can get by fine with selecting which spells you want.
Remember that different classes allows you to learn spells from different schools too.. So for example, samurai learns sun spells so your wizard can polish up the remaining sun spells later.. Likewise for spirit spells, monks and paladins can learn those, and vine spells can be learnt by rangers.. A couple of tips: not all spells are available from the guilds.. only wizards and the elite roles of valkyrie and zenmaster learn stone spells (training at the guilds is highly recommended)...stay in a role long enough to get the level seven spells because once youc hange roles, you only learn spells from the previous role at 1/2 level so even if you had level 12 in sun, you can only learn up to level 6 sun spells if you are no longer a wizard/samurai/warlock/zenmaster.. |
