Want to use clua console but can't find the file . I tried using the search tool but but even though it finds the file (I think) all it tells is there is nothing to display. I did this a few times then decided to find it myself but I can't locate it. Where's it at? Assuming I do eventually find it what do I open it with. Any help will be appreciated.

Very common problem. Windows hides file extensions from you, the file is there but is marked "baldur" rather than baldur.ini . And when you search for it, windows isnt set up with any common way to edit .ini files, so it gives you that dialogue box.

On windows98, go into your BG2 folder, view menu, preferences, then search around till you find the option "hide extensions for known file types". Cant remember exactly where it is under win98.

For windows XP, go into control panel -> folder options ->view and the same option is in that list.

When youve turned that off, baldur.ini will be clearly visible in explorer. If it asks you what to edit it with, choose notepad.

The other solution is to work with DOS and use the edit command.

Go to the folder in which BG2 is installed, if you didn't change anything it is C:/Program Files/Black Isle/BGII SoA/ It should be in there. It looks like a text file with the golden thingy in it. If you don't have file extensiions visible you can put it on in your settings it's in folder options (don't have an english windows version) unclick the 'hide known file extensions'

Thanks. I did see that file and thought that was probably it but wasn't sure. Let's see what happens. Thanks again.
