I'm spending three weeks in California in August, 10 days of it for a dance workshop, the rest just looking about. I might even extend my time there! Anyone got any 'must see's', bearing in mind it's a part of America I've never been to.
I'm going to be staying in San Francisco, and I don't drive, so places that can't be got to by public transport are pretty much out, unless any of you nice people want to volunteer to drive me round!!

Too bad you're not coming down to Southern California! I'd love to meet you. San Fransisco is about a 7 hour drive north of me. I'm sure you'll have a blast up there. There is so much to do! I'd recomend checking out the Montery Bay Aquarium, as it is truly amazing. Alcatraz is a novelty to some people worth seeing...be sure you ride in a cable car...I'm sure you'll see the Golden Gate Bridge... Honestly, just walking down the streets of San Fransisco is an experience. There are mimes and all sorts of street preformers walking around everywhere. The city has a very unique feel to it. Just don't mind the gay people everywhere.
Hope you have a great time! BTW, if you have some extra time, and can see your way down to Southern California, I could probably get you some free rooms at my Uncle's hotel. It's right next to Disneyland, Disney's California Adventure, and Downtown Disney. It's a very nice hotel and it shouldn't be a problem to comp you some rooms for as long as you were in town. Lots of fun around there. Tons of clubs, it's right next to the Anaheim convention center, the Arrowhead Pond, and Angel's Stadium. I'd be more than happy to drive you around while you were in town as well . Let me know ahead of time if you're interested. [ 05-09-2002, 02:33 PM: Message edited by: MILAMBER ]
