I feel so stupid I have never had so much trouble with one quest. I am in the place where the lava pups are but it just dead ends. I have walked all over the lava and tracks but everything dead ends except the way out. What am I doing wrong (or not doing) am I supposed to do something with the ore piles? It says something is needed but I have tried everything in my inventory. HELP!!!!!!! Where am I going? What am I doing? Who am I? Why am I here? AAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!

You can run and jump across the gap in the tracks . . . Use person with best athletics skill. If you turn and look behind you and up above the track you came out on then look up you will see an opening up there again good athletics can climb the walls. You need a pick from one of the crazies . . . keep it in your inventory and USE it on the ore piles . . . you can get gems and ore from them. You are Nancy and you are in the dwarven mines . . . ahhhhhhhhh! I believe you are playing a game and having fun . . . or at least giggling insanely!

Do have a pickaxe? It can be used on ore piles.
Sources: the deep mines or a crazy miner. |

That is where I am at, above the tracks but I walk down the corridor and cross the lava go into another room with more lava and it dead ends. As for the pick axe I sold them all so I guess I'll get another. But I still can't find a way past the last room.

Nancy, there IS no way past this room. It really is a dead end - with ore.

Sorry, no sleeping in this game . . . unless you have been spelled to do so! Don't worry, in a poll I think Stout Mines is THE most frustrating spot in the game . . . from here on out it is all down hill . . . . heehee!

I found the ore piles hard to see - use the Spirit
spell that puts a white dot on the map where things are (can't recall the name). Then check out each one with a a pick. I found I could walk along the walls fairly easily without falling into the lava (still had Lava Walk spell on for safety). Is this due to an atheletics skill or can everybody do this? Aside from a lava hound I never met the monsters I was warned about by King Freyedies (living rock?). Just lucky or do they really exist? |
