I was thinking about this the other night and was curious if anybody out there knew anything on the subject. Is it possible to create your own class in BG2 by using some editor? I wanted to take on the Elven Bladesinger class and to do so need to give certain abilities, but was wondering if I can set them to gain a certain levels and what not. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

U mean creating a custom Class as opposed to just a custom kit of an existing class? Hmm, no one has ever made one so far, and I doubt it is possible without decoding the game's exe. I have been meaning to try this, but have never got around to it. It would definitely take a lot of file-editing like Class.ids and all the 2da files etc., I still doubt it is possible.
What u could do for a Bladesinger though, is make it a fighter/mage kit. However, most ppl know that mage, monk and multi-class kits are impossible to make the convetnional way, ie. overriding 2das. So u gotta use a script with the ChangeClass action to achieve a fighter/mage status. BTW about 50 other ppl are trying to make, maybe have made already, the Bladesinger. |

I'm not computer litterate, so I'm not sure what you're talking about with the decoding stuff.
That's cool to know though, but yes I was looking for the Bladesinger Kit. Thanks anyways! |

Pennance, about the decoding what I mean is, some things are hard-coded into the exe file so we need to work out which values mean what and this is very difficult- ie. there is no logical starting point and u can't just start editing the .exe file and expect the game to work
