I think if you install ToB, the patch, and Baldurdash (remember to uninstall the SoA Baldurdash if you have it before installing the ToB Baldurdash), you should be fine. But I could be wrong.

It will screw up any mods though. If you have any, remove them, install ToB, the ToB patch, the ToB fixpack, and then reinstall the mods.

you dont needp the patch, its just recommended. I've played both bg1 and 2 through a few times both with and without the patch. there is a few things fixed but its not necessary.

Nope matey, you should always grab the patch.
Eventually, you will start to spot things that just... arent... right. The first few times you may not notice, or just think to yourself that something is a little odd. Then you may notice some items don't work quite how the descriptions state. Then you may find ways of getting two strongholds if you are a fighter/mage. Or possibly ways of getting experience over and over again by talking to the same person several times. You may even be able to pickpocket some people several times and get the same magical items. Possibly. To ensure a bug free game, you should always install the latest patch and Baldurdash fixpack AS SOON AS POSSIBLE after installing the game... it will save you serious pain if something goes 'wrong' in game.
