What do you think of it? Great war-strategy game, or expensive wannabe D&D?

Okay strategy game - lots of fun - catering more and more to munchkins everyday. 40K rules need a re-vamp. Great miniatures, but very overpriced.
And not enough time to paint my army. But, I'll see you at Chicago Games Day anyway. |

Very overpriced! It's £15 per unit of soldiers here in England, but I bet it costs them mere pennied to produce the plastic parts. I used to collect Tomb Kings but I've stopped now because I moved on to D&D. Ooooh, but the Lord of the Rings stuff looks intriguing. I'm thinking of paying for the whole fellowshi + other important characters, just for sake of having them together . I'll never play with them . Painting is supposed to be half of the hobby, but even the paints are overpriced! Chigaco Games Day, eh? Cool... Is that for tons of games or just warhammer? Either way, I'm there

Im with you guys, I used to collect and still have a fair sized army, but its just got way to expensive, I mean in the games workshop in aberdeen every single thing has gone up about £5 since a few years back, not that much, but it all adds up. But great game.

Love it, the only problems these days are the price, the lack of local adversaries and the painting... I had a lovely painting corner, now it's gone

Painting for me was probably the best part, I loved to get my men painted really well, Il always remember the time when I got my first black ink wash. I was stupid enough to try it out on my best painted guy!!! and it was to thick, I had to paint the guy again!

What armies did everyone collect? As I said, I collected Tomb Kings up to about 2,000 points. Then, after seeing LotR, I was going to move onto Wood Elves but that's when I quit. And do you reckon GW will ever lower their damned prices? |
