Are you speaking about the last battle of the game?

Use potions of speed and giant strength on your fighters, taking care to avoid the traps that your thief cannot disarm. Fire resistance would also be a good idea, now that I think about it.
Drop the "assistants" first, then concentrate on the Big Guy. Don't have your mages or clerics use area effect spells in case your fighters need to go into that area; try Magic Missile, Acid Arrow, Force Missiles, etc. Your thief's crippling strike, should you have HoW installed, comes in really handy here.

Although I fail to see what the point of playing out the battle would be then. The final battle in IWD is truly challenging and well worth the effort to win without cheating.
BTW - Welcome to IW, Seyonne. GIA - If you are, in fact, at the final battle of the game, it is pointless to use any kind of combat enhancing or potection spells or potions prior to the start of the fight as the first thing your enemy does is dispel all magical effects on your party. It is best to employ potions and spells of this sort after the fight begins. Keep your characters along the perimeter of the room at least until your thief can disarm the traps elsewhere. Note that the traps when sprung also dispel any magical effects upon the character who triggers them. Fire resistance potions, especially for your melee specialists are a must. Make sure you are using weapons that can actually hit your opponent and his helpers and don't be afraid to pull a character out of the fight to be healed. Good luck with the fight and let us known when you finish him off.

Belhifet right. You can get your mages to lure the Iron Golems away (thir spells won't work on him anyway) while you get your tanks to pound on the b******.

surgestions that i can give you is to get your theif if you've got one to detect the traps so you can evade them, and just get yer tanks on the iron golems first then on the main man himself. mages can throw in spells of speed to help out, and clerics can be useful for healing anyone that needs it.

Run away from the center of the room (head S).
Surprisingly, don't bother with any non-healing potions. In the early rounds you can't afford to take a round to drink them. Getting in some good shots on Belhefit's allies and/or running away is more useful. Also those Dispel magic traps will dispel the effects anyway. Have only your single toughest melee fighter engage Belhefit to keep him occupied. If this fighter starts to take too much damage, send in another tough fighter and get your #1 fighter healed up quick. Kill the Golems ASAP. If possible, engage them with ranged weapons, instead of melee. Once the golems are dead, engage Belhefit with ranged weapons. Why? You can spread your characters around the room and Belhefit cannot concentrate on any one of your characters. This is a surprisingly easy way to beat Belhefit. SPOILER NOTE: If you're playing a HOW enhanced version of IWD, the Belhefit battle has been toughened up with a couple of (sp?) Couregan demons. Kill them ASAP as well. Overall, the key to more easily defeating Belhefit is to kill his allies first. You cannot properly focus on Belhefit and keep one of your characters alive and running away from a couple of golems. You WILL forget that poor mage at some point and the golems will pound him into the floor. |
