Actually, I don't see people tossing out their cigarette butts very often.

I'm hopeless. There's no other way to describe it. I work in industrial sheds where the new anti-smoking laws are still pretty lax on account of the myriad of other smoke/spark sources. At work, cigerette butts go on the floor amongst all the other crap. It is a habit that is making inroads to other parts of my life. In my old house, whilst watching a movie or something, it was not uncommon for me to finish a cigerette and then go to chuck it in an ashtray only to discover that i'd been subconsciously ashing on my own carpet. Once when i was drunk i'd even gone one step further and flicked the butt off to the side of the room before i even realised.

Growing up in regional areas has made me a little better when it comes to safely disposing of the butts in the ashtray when i'm driving. I still ash out of the windows though (which got me pulled over when i did it absent mindedly next to a bike cop at the lights. Funny story.)

My new unit, facing the ocean, has a weird wind phenomenon which unerringly places any and all cigerette butts tossed over the balcony onto the balconies of the units below. I now have an old coffee tin.

Slightly off topic, but it looks like Britain is changing the looks of ciggarette packs. Hello gross graphics!

At home? Ya, but it's not like it's a conscious thing when i'm doing it. At work? Na, i only get concerned if i catch fire.

Ironically enough, one of the news items I heard on my way to work today was that a local man died in a fire that destroyed his home....and they determined it was a carelessly tossed cigarette that was the cause.
