Hopefully in TOB they don't make the dragons/liches/demons like kagaxxx.
I really don't think it is possible to kill without using some cheesy tactics. I only manage to do so with spell immunity and MMM. |

I hope they do. In BG2 you couldn't advance much higher than level 20 without removing the EXP cap, but a level 40 character would swat liches like Kangaxx like a fly. I prefer to have a bit of a challenge before crushing my foes

I actually wonder if ANYBODY beat Kangaxx the first time they met him without dying, and no help from anyone including the message boards. I serious doubt it. I don't think anyone knew he would continually cast imprisonment over and over again. Just my opinion though.

I defeated Kangaxx in three times, although I didn't die from imprisonment and I didn't use the tactics on the board. First time around, he got me by surprise (sort of) and the meteor swarms killed three of my characters, one of which permanently. Second time he imprisoned Minsc but I didn't want to walk back through all the auto-saves to get a freedom scroll at the Adventure's Mart. Third time around, Kangaxx was toast (BTW, I didn't even use summon spells, maybe I was just lucky with my dice rolls

I killed him the SECOND time. Used the prot. from magic scroll (REALLY cheesy tactic) and then I used the freedom scroll from the Underdark to free the imprisoned Minsc.
Piece of cake with that one item, a good sword and a reliable fighter ------------------ |

What Xod makes sense. I believe the only way that you could beat Kangaxx the first time would be to have a berserker ( either Korgan or PC) to be immune to imprisonment. The first time you are always surprised by him as WHO would expect an enemy capable to cast a 9th level spell unlimited times.
BTW: I never fough him my first time through. I was a lawful good dwarven fighter/cleric who didn't believe in breaking and entering uninvited. I like to role-play my alignment - thank you very much. I beat him my 2nd time through on my first try, b/c I was spoiled unfortunately. I don't think Kangaxx would be killable if he had good AI. ANd ToB has improved AI... Scared now...
