I think people should look here. Some of these are worse than this one.
Here are a sample from Alabama;
It is illegal for a driver to be blindfolded while operating a vehicle.
Dominoes may not be played on Sunday.
It is illegal to wear a fake moustache that causes laughter in church.
Putting salt on a railraod track may be punishable by death.
Boogers may not be flicked into the wind.
Bear wrestling matches are prohibited.

I went there and for grins looked up my state of Tennessee. One our state is famous for is the one making roadkill legal to consume for food.

Here's one for Slackerboy. Mister, you are in trouble here!

do yourself a favor: stay out of oklahoma. mass insanity can be handled by anyone after time, but mass idiocy cannot be taken at all! i believe Oklahoma would like to challenge Alabama for the most backward state in the country.

Singer: Alabama Man! He's quick, he's strong, he's action!!

While Alabama might be the most backward state, I think it has some competition. My aunt live in Georgia - not just Georgia but rural Georgia. She has some fascinating stories to tell. Two of her neighbors have shot people - in their own families. In both cases, the injuries were not serious, but still... One man shot his father when they were having an argument. The other man shot his wife and the man with whom he caught her. The local sheriff was very apologetic about having to haul him into jail for the night.

If not competition, Alabama at least has some company.

My introduction to Alabama was while in the military. I was walking to a movie house and a charming fellow threw a bottle at me while he was driving along at 60mph. Hit me it the back of the leg and knocked me flat. He of course was not man enough to come back. Though he did stop while I got up, and flew me the bird.
I do understand that not everyone is like that there though. But you will understand any ire I have concerning the state comes from that.
Reeka you are certainly a wonderful example of the good folks there.
