As the game warns you in the tips screen, if a monster poses hardly any threat to your party, killing it will yield little or no xp. Killing a goblin with a 1st level PC yields a lot more xp than killing one at 3th level, and after a few more levels you get none at all.

I am at a point of the game where 90% of the monsters give no EXP whatsoever. The only EXP I get is from Quests and "boss" monsters.

A trick you can do is add a newly created level one character to your party, and park him somewhere. That will bring the average level of your party down and you'll start gaining EXP from critters again. Of course, it only works if you have less than 6 peeps already.

LOL! I thought they were just saying that when a 20th level fighter kills a goblin, the XP he would get would be pretty insignificant then when he kills a major bad-ass! Didnt think they actually *meant* it! I'm *so* lame

Yep, there's a point in the game where you get little or nothing for the critters you fight. This was very poorly thought-out. Especially as the opponents can still hurt you plenty.

Yeah, I just did install that yesterday. But it's less than perfect. It's screwed up the fixed xp for quests. I noticed this finally in the Ice Temple (sometimes, I admit, I'm slow). That stuff shouldn't be touched. And what you do get for fights otherwise isn't much. Just reached Kuldahar, and the Yuan-Ti points are pitiful. Sigh.

P.S. Of course, such mods wouldn't be needed if the designers did it right.

No XP and no Deathspell, they should call it Heart of Frustration mode.
