Saz, Cloudy, Ziroc...any mod
My daughter is trying to register (she is a Darkstone player) but doesn't have her own e-mail address as she typically doesn't do e-mail (when she needs to, she uses mine and her e-mail site suddenly decided to start charging a few months ago anyhow). She tried to register using mine, but the goofy board won't let her. Does she need to get a dummy e-mail acct. just for this or ?

I suggest getting a dummy email account. You will doubtless come across this situation on other boards/shopping sites/SMS messagin sites whatever and a crappy email account you can give them is always useful.

Garnet, I know you're asking the mods, but I would say that she probably needs a dummy email account, she can get an account at http://www.msn.com though I think she has to log into it now and then to keep it active.

Garnet, they are correct. Best bet is to get her a yahoo or hotmail account to use strictly for such things as forums or online registrations and just put heavy spam filters on it. Will need clearing now and again but it's also where mass email notices come when (hopefully NEVER again) we have down time on the board.

In order to become a member, you get a password. That password is sent to the e-mail account that you provide.
I may be wrong, but I think that is how it works... so my guess is that she would never receive her password if she didn't use a valid entry... |

That's exactly how it works. Garnet, what the others said...I recommend one of the freebie accounts: Yahoo, MSN Hotmail, or Lycos Mail. She need not make that public after she gets her password, but the passwords are e-mailed in.
Cheers, -Sazerac P.S. Hope your daughter enjoys the Darkstone forum! I know our dear Scottish Rodent will take good care of her there.
