I know alot of ppl talk bout this but i was wondering whats the best race for a monk? human? Are barbarians better than fighters? are druids better than clerics? what the hell does a bard do besides play useless songs? Are wizards or sorc. better? And how come there are no hot chick portraits?

drow monk is the best. just take a look at drows special abilites. as for your other question, they are all good depends on your playing style.
for potrait, take a look at Magness site. he posted the link in his topic below. |

I prefer Sorc to Wizard. Not as many spells, but you know the ones you want; no hunting around for the scrolls to learn from. Sorc can also cast more spells per level than a wizard. I've tried both classes; sorcs forever! Preferred race is Elf. Some like Drows, but the 2 level penalty really hurts.
Tiefling or Halfling for Rogue. I prefer halfings, but that's just me Aasimar for Paladin or Cleric. The one-level penalty is not too bad in this case. Human or Dwarf for fighter. A dwarf fighter with axe in hand and axe specialization is a person to be feared. Usually, Half-Orc for Barbarian. I never used them much myself. Note, by the way, that many start off with a fighter for 4 levels then switch to barb. I've never done this myself. There's a thread here called "Bards Usless?" you may want to read for comments on that class. Can't say much about Druids; never had one. |

That being said, do take a look at Magness's site. It has lots of other good pics.

Now, now, Luvian. I like looking at "hot chicks" as much as the next red-blooded guy. I'm just a bit more pragmatic when it comes to portraits of female adventurers.
The idea that female adventurers will be fighting in nothing more than a cape and a thong is silly. Sure, the pics that show fighting females wearing very little are nice to look at, but are you going to roleplay them to that picture and not have your female fighter not wear armor? I doubt it. Furthermore, this is ICEwind Dale, the frozen wintery north, not the middle of summer in Amn. Arguably, every one of the characters in our parties will be wearing heavy winter cloaks and furs. Regardless, Check out my website, Defenders of the Dale!!! |
