I don't think either will happen anytime soon.

Truth to tell - in 39 years of living this is the first I have heard of the "tiger" version. I don't support the lawsuit, but from my perspective that rhyme could be reasonably viewed as inherantly racist.

All I'll say is that I really need to sue some corporation for something, if these people can get away with it why not me.

Well, I always knew that smarta** Southwest flight attendants would end up putting the company in court one day. Not that *I* mind - I find them quite amusing - but I have always been sure someone would take offense sooner or later knowing how people wear chips on their shoulders these days.

Oh well, maybe southwest will plead that they are the poor minority of the airline industry and, ergo, can't discriminate.

Eenie meanie minie moe
Catch a ■■■■■■ by the toe
If he hollers let him go
Eenie meenie minie moe.

Disgusting. Racist. Reminiscent of slavery era. Understandably distressing to someone already in an embaressing situation.

Growing up as a seven year old I knew this was racist. Seven years old and I knew it was disgusting.

I've never heard the tiger version until this website. I'd have thrown the book at whoever was stupid enough to use that rhyme to further humiliate someone.

And if this was the version used, they would have an airtight case. However, the only part that was used was the opening line of

"Eeni meenie minie moe"

The rest of the rhyme was changed and had absolute no racist overtone at all.

It's the same as the opening line "Roses are red,Violets are blue".

It is literally impossible to list all the possible lines that follow this opening lyric. In fact, I couldn't tell you what the original line was that followed this.

By changing the words, they also changed the meaning, intent and purpose of the rhyme.

Not only that, but it seems to me that the rhyme wasn't even directed at the black women.

"trying to get passengers to sit down"

"over the intercom, "Eenie, meenie, minie, moe; pick a seat, we gotta go."

"Said over the intercom" means that the attendant probably didn't even see those two women. And "passengers" implies that there were many people who were not in a seat and the rhyme was directed at all of them. Really stupid lawsuit.
