Dualing mage, playing bard, same prob !

Dualing mage, playing bard, same prob : Can't cast while wearing an armor !

So what do you guys do ? Take off armor when you need to cast (which i find quite boring) or do you just left your char naked all the time (which I find quite ugly) ?

And are there magic armor (may they be leather or chain) that allows you to cast even when wearing them ?

Yes... Bladesinger Chain. It's a definate design choice.

Melodic Chain, Planar Prison.

Elven Chains. All over the place. You can get one in Trademeet if you feel a little bit evil.

Elven Chains are wonderful, except for the fact that you become a neon glowing green freak. A beacon of greeness. Makes you glad for Stoneskin as a spell.

Melodic Chain is a Bard only armor. It looks quite good, a little green, a little white, a little black and brown. I dunno about anybody else, but, in my game, if you wear a Ring of Regeneration and either wear the Mail of the Dead or the Melodic Chain, you get funky white glowing bits on your armor that flash and pulse.

you could also use robes. dual-classed mages can use robes.

Yeah, I get a little annoyed at that too, especially when SO MANY of the best armors are green. Bladesinger Chain, Robe of Vecna, and the Gorgon Plate spring to mind. Whatever happened to that great Plate+3 from Durlag's Tower, that was GOLD? Now that was some snazzy gear.

Khalid looked so cool wearing the "Practical Defence" and carrying Varscona with a shield. Glad he's dead.

but who wouldn't want some pimpin' armor?! you could head over to the slums and own your own bordello, anybody mess with you, sing at them!

what i truly missed in BG2 was the cool flaming blade my minsc used to handle.

not most combats, no there where better blades for that, but just for coolness.....

Get Bladesinger chain, its better than Melodic. Go get it by doing the quest of finding Haer Dalis, then going to the outer plane thingy.

Sorry, you can't get the Bladesinger Chain till almost the end of the game.

The Melodic Chain, as I have mentioned, is in the Planar Prison. It is wearable by Bards.
