I think the key phrase there was "half YOUR spell skill level". If your character is only at level 4 and you switch class aren't they then limited to only level 2 spells?
I changed one of my spell casters to another class before they learned some of the higher level, niftier spells and even though I trained them up in that spell skill - they were unable to learn more (until my second game where I changed them back to a class where they could learn the spells again) Ascend with caution! hi all helping pals!
I'm currently in Ishad'Na and should clean up the serpent's lair. my problem: my priest (level6) has not yet leaned level 4 vine spells. the serpents always poison me and I have no cure to that... Waiting for level 7 priest goes too long, so I want to change my class to a monk. QUESTION: after my change to monk, can I still learn VINE spells??? any other idea how to cure my poisoned characters?? TNX for your help!! |

Yes but limited to 1/2 your skill level in Vinecraft. Monks specialise in Spirit spells; so if you turn your priest into a monk, he can still learn Spirit spells unhindered, but you'll be limited to level 6 Vine spells (cos max skill level is 12)... which still serves your purpose as far as curing poison is concerned. (I'm still dubious about the value of level 7 Vine spells anyway). Someone correct me if I'm mistaken cos I don't have a monk yet.
Oh, some further advice - try exploring the area west of Ishad N'ha. Look for mountain spiders to kill - they're worth about 500-600 xp each (for each char in a 6-member party)! And so far, they don't often poison me - even if they do, just run back to the temple in town. Many of my characters rose levels very quickly fighting in the west side of Ishad. Just don't wander too far north into the area where the dragon is. If you have trouble with the Amazoni Mantraps, don't go too far towards Shurugeon Castle either. Having said that, if you can kill the Mantraps, your priest would be level 7 in no time! In my party, there's also a 7th level Ranger who also has Cure Poison. She and my priest are my anti-venom squad in the SErpent Temple. Lastly, when you hear the serpent priests talking from a distance, quickly cast Binding Force on them if you can (Moon spell Freeze also works). |
