I was looking at the Darkstone package at Wal-Mart
before I buy it, I want to know everyone's opinion of this game. (the amount of visits to this forum held me back) ------------------ Adam Mage/Warlock |

Excellent dungeon crawl - easy to learn, easy to control the player(s) - much simpler than Diablo or Icewind Dale - almost like a sequel to Stonekeep. Darkstone also has a downloadable quest editor so you can build your own adventures. Also has a skin editor so you can make your character look any way you want. All in all a very addictive game.

Because Darkstone was developed by a French company originally and never got the marketing push it deserved. However, as you are here you have no doubt found out by now that this is one hell of a game! Enjoy.

I concur, it's a great game. Go snag a copy.
Though truthfully, I'm not sure what kind of responses you expected to receive in a Darkstone forum. I can't imagine a lot of people here saying, "Bah! Tripe and rubbish! Don't waste your money!" -Hal |

This may surprise you Adam but I bought DarkStone to tide me over 'till Diablo 2. Considering that it came out three years earlier I reckon it did a pretty good job. It's a great simple game (untill you start messing around with the quest editor (from Delphinesoft's website). However, it also includes skinning potential and is generally fun (even if no one wants to go multi player with me) . If anybody does please contact me.
