First of all, hi all.
It seems i got 2 problems with this game. 1.) i cant get into Collasium the problem is the first door after the lever room. it is closed all the time, and i didnt find any means to open it.(i aint got 6 helms and breathers, so my time to find anything down there is pretty limited.) 2.) that elevator to kerah. i used it once, removed the statue from the altar and now it seems i cant go there any longer. (i tried to leave the statue on the altar, but its just gone when i return from kerah.) the reason why i want to go there is, to get the lucky stone u need for the leprechaun quest. btw.: i read a few topics about char generation and stuff. heres my 2cp. my party sucks, it really does. i gave a shit about their inital statistics, i, most of the time, dont care how many hp,or stat points they gain, and still. the mobs so far are extremely easy to fight. so, just forget it and create what u want. (at least from a first time level 20 player point of view.) Ark. Just found another post with the same question about collasium (trying to get in at the exit). so, just forget that 1. Welcome to the board Arknash!!!
I see you found your problem at Collasium! Are you running the game with the patch? In the un-patched version the trip to visit Kerah is a once only opportunity. You've got a couple options here: install the patch and email me to give you the statue for the altar or email me to give you the clover stone for the Leprechaun quest. Looks like you should just email me! Wyv |

Well Hello there Ark! Welcome to the best forum ever. So you found the back way in through the hole in the rocks to the collesium - cool. While you are in there, look for air breathing spaces up at the ceilings since you don't have breathers. You can also use the Breath of Air spell (level 6 Vine spell) if you have it. Lots of swimminig around in there. Let us know how you do.
I also wanted to tell you that I totally agree with you about the stats! The only thing that really gives you a run for the money are the Mantraps, and even those can be dealt with once you figure out "how". God speed, Mammawlin |

i run the game without patch, but i still got the statue. ill try it
again with the patch installed. about vine magic. my priest morphed to monk when he had level 3 vine spells. i found a cure poison book in the cult temple i think, but try to do skull keep without a cure disease *grin* (my prime tank, the 1 that takes nearly all the hits lost 10 hp and 2 presence in there, permanent of course). mantraps r bad, but the battle at the end of the temple, when u fight the high priestess is even worse. (maybe ive just been lucky, but it seems the mantraps on the overland map cant pass the small path near the rats (ratmen, ratkins, whatever). i just blasted them from the other side, without being damaged. well, AFTER i stumbled into them and they killed me and after i had them right infront of the city gates of course. the ones inside boogreville were just annoying because my wizards fizzeled a lot.) did any1 manage to kill the priestess and her devout followers without running for cover ? Hi Ark! You are absolutely right about the mantraps, very annoying indeed. But once you do kill them, they are worth quite a bit.
And YES, I too had to run while fighting the army in the temple! That is the best strategy to keep from being wiped out, I believe. A GOOD fight gets the blood pumping, doesn't it!!!! I found out recently that the spider nectar cures poison. Wish I would have known this the first time I went to the temple!! So, tell me, how is it going in the collesium without breathers? Oh hell, i hate her. Yesterday we entered the city for the first time.
My party headed down a short corridor and just before we entered the first room, i saw a mermaid running from us. we decided to go after her, to "ask" for some information. By the time we reached the 2nd room, 4 out of 6 were already dead. Luckily theres an air hole in there. So we decided its time to resurrect the 4 dead men, since 6 people make "questioning" much easier then 2. After quite a while, i allowed the monk to regain some mana, my group set out again. As u prolly know, this pesky lil mermaid was already waiting for us only a short distance away. Since she didnt seem to pose a threat i decided to talk instead of outright killing her. im still not sure whether that has been a mistake or not. this lil bastard really loves to hear herself speak. by the time she finished her first speech, you know, that part where she makes a lot of blabla about trust and mermaids, our wizards were dead again and the other 2 without breathers felt already a bit uncomfortable so to say. after some more boring and useless conversation and 2 more dead bodies, she proved really helpfull. she must have seen the strange glances i already gave her. (i decided to let her live for the moment, but she will be fish fodder before i leave the city!) at least after that luck seemed to return once more. we found some softshell crabs, and some of them even had conches, so this wont happen again. Wow,Ark, are you a little upset?! Gee, I don't remember getting attacked that soon in the collesium, but once attacked, I would KILL them if I could. Well, now that you can get more breathers, perhaps you will be in better shape to retaliate. Let us know how you do.

Though I had 6 sets of breathing equipment, I always one of my chars keep Breath of Air (lvl 6 Vine spell) on trigger as a ready spell. Vine spells are ever so useful; have you thought of letting your priest change to Ranger or Warlock to max out Vine magic?
Has Sarellia opened the grate for you and given you the glowstone? You'll need it later on. Traute |
