Thanks for the hint on the eye of the beholder. And the crank too.

Ive completed the game and am going through it again but i dont know wnything about a twisted rune.... or is this what we are talking about. one and the same subject???? now that im armed with a lil info im going to go back and kick some booty!!!

It's a high-level encounter that isn't connected to the main plot. They put a few in:

The Slave Lords (some people might recognise the names Slippery Ketta and Stalman Klim from the ORIGINAL Scourge of the Slave Lords)
Kangaxx
The Twisted Rune
.
There are a few Rogue Stones in the game. Can't remember where they all are though. There are two doors in the Bridge building affected. One leads to one of Kangaxx's crypts, the other (needing the gem) to the Twisted Rune. It took me quite a few tries the first time round

As part of my usual searching, I decided to look in all the houses around the bridge district.
I had a rogue stone.
I opened the door.
I ain't goin' in THERE again in a hurry!!!!!!!!!

Shangalar gives you 52,000 exp.

Kangaxx give you 32,000 exp.

So theorically speaking - he is powerfuller than kangaxx?
